The massage & decompression package combines 3× mechanical spinal decompression and 3× massage (30 min). Decompression relieves pressure on the disc and nerve; massage relaxes muscles that have tightened up in response to the pain.
How the package works
When the spine hurts over a longer period, the surrounding muscles reflexively tighten to protect it, which can add to the feeling of stiffness. Mechanical decompression gently relieves pressure on the disc and nerve root, while massage relaxes the tightened muscles around the spine.
For a diagnosed disc herniation, a prior medical assessment (e.g. an MRI) is required before starting decompression — massage doesn't require a report.
The number and schedule of sessions is set by the therapist after an assessment, and can be adjusted during the series if the plan isn't giving the expected result.
